Wigs can make a costume. If one way you've tried and didn't like it, you can use another. Some come from to . It all matters what you want.

Method 1- Yarn Wigs
Yarn wigs look incredible. Get it just right, it will be really authentic. You will need the following: 1. Control Top Pantyhose
2. Polyester yarn. Aunt Lydia's (AL) and Trait Tex (TT) are good brands
3. Yarn Darner or a large needle
4. Fake Head
5. Lots of time! Seriously!
First, take the pantyhose and cut the legs off. Be sure to take the cooton croucth too! Sew the legs up. That's your wig base. Next, take the the polyester yarn and thread it through the yarn darner. Knot it at the way end, and thread it from the inside out, and when it is pulled all the way through, knot it again at the outside base. Use the rest of the yarn on the needle. Repeat millions more times and your done. My yarn wigs are .

Method 2- Rubie's CATS Hoods
The Rubie's Hood is a lot of work to get to work, yet it will pass. I have never tried it, but I've seen pictures and it is passable alternitive. The hood comes in 3 CATS colors. Orange, white, and black. I will not put instructions 'cause I don't want to copy Marzi or anybody else who has written instructions. If you need instructions go to the CATS Costume Discussion Board or Marzi's website. I have links in the Awesome Links. You can get CATS Hoods ADA Dancewear. |

Method 3- Japanese Beast Wigs
These are totally evil. Some older websites say these are the best to use. They lied. Don't use it. Trust me, I've tried it. Anyway, if you do want to try it, take off the ugly wired ears. Also, trim it outside. The fur get's everywhere. |
|
Method 4- Crepe Wool
Crepe Wool can be treated like yarn wigs, except replace the yarn with crepe wool. If you are allergic to wool, stay away from it. Crepe wool is very authentic. You can get it from Alcone and Stage Supply or a craft store like Ben Franklin of JoAnne's. Ben Nye makes crepe wool. My Crepe Wool wigs cost . |
|
Method 5- Horse Hair
Horse Hair is amazingly authentic! Although I haven't used it, I seen and heared about it. The good thing is it costs about the same as crepe wool. The bad thing it is hard to knot. My horse hair wigs cost .

Method 6- Yak Hair
Yak Hair, the closest you can get to the real performers. I have no clue where to get it, but Jen does. She is on the CATS Costume Discussion Board. It behaves just like horse hair, so it is hard to knot. It costs a lot. I don't make yak hair wigs yet. |

Other Methods
There are other things to make wigs out of. Tina Turner wigs, regular wigs you get on Halloween, putting your hair in buns, if you have short hair, fraying your hair out and using gel to make cat ears. The possibilities are endless! |
